One Family Scholars

One Family Scholars is a program of One Family, Inc., created by the Fireman Foundation to end family homelessness in Massachusetts. The program provides college scholarships and flexible funding coupled with career development and leadership training for low-income and formerly homeless mothers. With financial aid and the support of an “extended family” to help them achieve their academic goals, the Scholars have the opportunity to forge a permanent path out of poverty for themselves and their families. Ethnically and racially diverse, the Scholars form a motivated group of leaders with the skills, knowledge and credentials to inform, improve and implement systems that can prevent homelessness for all families.
